Little did she know what the Kronners had planned for her and the Ellinod until she woke up naked in a cell inside their ship. And it wasn't long before she found out a translation device had been implanted against her spine, debilitating her and making her helpless with pain whenever she tried to use her psi powers.Neither she nor the Ellinod had any idea how twisted their captors were, but they soon discovered that she and the beast were at the mercy of someone who expected them to "entertain" his "customers", and entertain them well regardless of the consequences.Warning: Contains moral degradation, public sex, self sacrifice, unexpected tenderness, sadistic little aliens, banishment, exorbitant Pay Per View charges, and sweet revenge served cold.

1.5Sometimes I'm extremely lucky and come across an underrated alien romance with fun, quirky light-hearted characters and plot like Venomous. Sometimes the stories are thought provoking emotional reads like Radiance, and at other times the stories are batshit crazy, compelling, laugh out loud stories like Bay's Mercenary, but this is not one of those times. Captive Surrender is just your basic alien erotica storyline where a big alien dude and a human female are kidnapped and forced to perform g [...]

4 entertaining starsThe entire time, all I could think about was the scene from Orange is the New Black when Crazy Eyes tells the prison psychologist about her alien erotica. So damn funny. So this was my first 'alien' romance novel. I must say, I found it rather good. It took a while to get used to the different alien names and other 'futuristic' sayings, but once I did, I found myself unable to put this book down!

DNF at 50%. The romance aspect just wasn't working for me. Wasn't feeling the emotional connection. Interesting world set up though.

You know, sometimes you just need a little dirty alien sex. And this book delivers that --in spades. Maurra is an intergalactic psionic cop a JoJo. She can use her mind as a weapon, as well as her fists. And she has to do just that, when she witnesses a group attacking a giant alien at a bar. What she doesn't realize is, she is actually the target. The bad guys knock her out and she awakens in captivity, along with the alien she comes to know as Safan. She quickly finds out that her captors plan [...]

You guys know I'm a mood reader, right? And, no, that's not a like a mood ring or anything. I don't even know how you could be a mood ring reader. Which is really not the point. I read what I'm in the mood to read when I'm in the mood to read it. Sometimes - like last night - I get in the mood for books about naughty, somewhat non-consensual sex between aliens. You know what? I'm secure enough in myself to admit that. I like naughty books that are set in space where aliens are doing it. I also l [...]

I like this story because usually it would have ended once they escape their 'prison'. HOWEVER, Mooney kept going with the novel about the ramifications of them breaking their rules once they escaped.Maurra has made a lot of enemies, an added bonus to her occupation duty. The whole plan was carefully planned for her to be captured along with Safan. He was picked because he had a big *cough, cough* 'asset'. Her humiliation would be that much greater, not to mention the whole concept of it being r [...]

When Maurra steps in to stop a fight between an Ellinod and Kronners outside a bar, she is taken out from behind by another Kronner. She wakes up naked in a cell on a ship with the Ellinod prisoner in another cell as well. Their captor demands that they have intercourse while being recorded so that he can broadcast to paying "customers", if they don't he will kill the Ellinod and bring in a less humanoid creature to fornicate with Maurra. The story follows Maurra and Safan while in captivity and [...]

My first book from this author and I loved it! Maura is an intergalactic cop with psi abilities that she can use as a weapon. She tries to help a member of an alien species who is being attacked by another species (Kronners). It is all a setup and the Kronnors kidnap both Maurra and Safan, the Ellinod alien she was trying to help. When she wakes up, she finds that her captors plan to force them to have sex for a pay-per-view audience. Beyond the fact that they are strangers, the situation is more [...]

1.5 starsThere was a surprising amount of story in this considering it was "just" erotica. I liked the attempt to add an actual plot instead of it being a thinly veiled device to string sex scenes together, but it's too bad that much of it didn't really make much sense once I started thinking about it. (view spoiler)[It was frankly ludicrous that both societies were so happy to turn their back on top ranked, highly trained enforcement agents and ruin their lives, all because they were kidnapped [...]

Well hello!Captive Surrender by Linda MooneySummary:Maurra, our heroine, is a intergalactic cop with psi abilities who happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time Or is she? A JoJo has a responbility to protect and she's very serious about it. In a heroic attempt to help an Ellinoid, she finds herself being taken along with him by very cunning bad aliens. Kronnans are sly sneaky bastards who have very cruel plans for them.Points to take in accounta) Erotic, kinky, naughty-scifiand romance [...]

Redonk nutshell: Psi-space cop and huge horned alien are captured by rogue aliens and forced to have sex while being filmedOkay. I'd be lying if I said I didn't giggle while writing the above. But literally, this is, more or less, the first half of Captive Surrender by Linda Mooney. The second half is our hero & heroine dealing with the repercussions of their actions, emotionally and, well, lawfully. This was my first read by Linda Mooney, and I had no qualms with her style. I enjoyed the wo [...]

This book was a great surprise. I was just expecting a wee book mostly revolving around sex and had passed it up numerous times while browsing for something new. But the characters were compelling and the plot was nicely paced and involved. The world building was nicely done too. I loved the strength of the heroine. The nicest surprise was how sweetly romantic the hero and heroine are together. Definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!

    Awesome story!!! 4.5 easy!Warm-fuzzy-giddy HEA

  • Yulia

Liked it.It was different than the usual sci-fi romance in that both the main characters were captive, when usually it's the woman abducted by the alien and then falls in love with him.

  • Alex

Made it about 60% of the way before I started skimming. Way too much very quick world building for a story you know most people aren’t reading for the plot.

this book was a bit slow

  • adelina.

I thought this is going to be a much darker romance, but still good read.

This review was orginally posted on abookaliciousstory .Hmm Conflicting emotions, this one gave. There were the ups and there were the downs, but ultimately, I'll say there were more ups.Maurra is a JoJo, our equivalent of the police. One day after a mission which left her exhausted, she decided to give herself a little reprieve and went to a bar for a drink. It was there that everything went downhill for our dear Maurra. As a JoJo, it was instilled into her to always uphold righteousness, so whe [...]

On the whole I enjoyed this sci fi romance. It seemed like a long novella in length. It's hard telling sometimes with Kindle. There was a decent attempt at world building. It suffered a bit from "space sprawl." Many new or casual sci fi authors tend to make their civilizations too big. Instead of a rational number of star systems, there were references to galaxies which would just be too unwieldy for any empire to rule or govern or police. But the actual planets and destinations within those plan [...]

I really enjoyed reading this book, it was really fun and sweet and hot at times. It is a pity it is so short and it is not a series. It is the kind of book that you pick up and you don't put down until you finish. Really worth the time if you are an alien aficionado.

Full review reposted from Smitten with ReadingMy Review:This was an interesting Science Fiction Erotica novel. I liked the fact that Safan was a true alien. He was humanoid sexually, but not otherwise, which I have found to be unusual in Sci Fi romances. Usually the love interest may be an alien, but most times their features are very humanoid. That was not the case with Safan. The Ellinod race, which is what Safan belongs to, are large creatures. They have skin that is leather-like with shades [...]

This review may contain some spoilersThis was a fun, steamy read for me. It starts a bit dark with our two leads having been kidnapped and placed into a cell on a spaceship. They are forced to make some sweet sweet illegal alien love for some whackjob villain. The two copulate under duress to millions of futuristic porn-watching voyeurs. Of course, our hero has a huge alien dick but they manage to work it out. Maurra, our heroine, is a sort of psychic intergalactic cop who gets kidnapped while r [...]

Would have been a great lead to a new series.Loved it intense and interesting and one of the few books where I skimmed almost 1/2 the book in total and yet had a good timeI liked Safan and Maurra together but sadly by the time their back together by their own free will the book is almost over,I'd have loved to have had more time with them together as a couple I found them fun and interesting when it was just the two of them but I'd have liked more development and backstory between them and for t [...]

Science Fiction RomanceI read Captive Surrender several months ago and somehow missed writing a review. This is another book I received from NetGalley.Captive Surrender is another human and alien romance. Maurra is a member of the Psi Police Corps. She goes to the aid of and alien being attached by a group of Kronners. Both she and Safan, the alien being attacked, are captured and held on the Kronners’ ship. There is more going on that meet the eye and Maurra and Safna must escape or be a part [...]

Combine aliens with erotica-romance and I am hooked! I fell in love with the two main characters and had an easy time imagining exactly what they looked like, talked like, and acted like. Not an easy feat for any author, yet Linda Mooney did an excellent job (especially when one of the characters is an alien with horns). The plot is a bit on the far fetched side (okay it is REALLY out there), but it IS fantasy/science fiction, and it certainly didn't detour me from thoroughly enjoying the book. [...]

3.5 starsSci-Fi Romance is a new favorite of mine and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. While there was a point where I was uncertain of the forced situation it all worked out in the end. I like a book that can pull me into the world that is created, to make me laugh or get angry at the characters. This book did that for me. I found myself thinking how unfair the punishment was for Maurra and Safan, how the law should not necessarily be black or white in all cases but shades of gray. In the [...]

  • Goddess Of Blah

I like this book due to the hero. For once we have a hero Alien who actually looks like an Alien. So many books have their Alien males resembling historical-bodice-ripper-Native-Americans, only much larger in size and with feline eyes or some such detail. I don't know if that's veiled racism towards the poor Native American community or it's just a severe lack of imagination. I'm currently opting for the latter. In this book it's a welcome relief (no pun intended) to read about an Alien who resemb [...]

First time reading this author. The book was pretty good. Maurra is taking a break before going back to her police-type job when she sees Safan being attacked by a bunch of skinny short aliens. She's watching him keep them a bay but when the little aliens come with stunners she tries to stop it. She wakes up on a ship with Safan and is eventually told they're in some sort of pay-per-view and although it's against the law, she and Safan will be filmed having sex. Otherwise they'll kill Safan. Eve [...]

This was a good book but It could have been better . The story Line was good and The writing style is fluid, however there were some inconsistancies and miss opportunities: how Come Safan and Maura can become mates when sex between species is forbidden by law? Why Safan feelings for Maura are never explored? His side of The story should have been described, why he falls for Maura should have been covered and Maura 's reasons for rescuing him could have been a bigger portion of The book. The unde [...]

Captive Surrender is quite good and well written, both the normal story and the erotic scenes.Personally I like the intricacies of the species and the visuals she creates around them, but what makes me hit my head against the wall is the closeness of the legal system(s) and those who up uphold the law; also some of Maurra's powers feel a bit over the top and the only limit on some of them is how her old duties regulated them, otherwise she is powerful enough to take on battalions or anyone to th [...]
